Faith Hope and Charity

Faith, Hope, and Charity are the three fundamental tenants of a life lived in service that form the foundation of a meaningful and fulfilling life.

For a long time, I was too consumed by my own desires and ambitions to truly understand the significance of these tenants in my life. But, as I look back, I realize that I was living a selfish and misguided life that was far from the path of righteousness. In my reflections on my past, I was lead to ask myself what are those tenants mean to me and how could return to being the man I desire to be, the man that I truly am if I can’t remember how important those words, Faith, Hope and Charity are to me and the reflection upon how they have in the past been my compass by which I measured all personal accomplishments and successes.

Faith to me, is about having a strong belief in something greater than oneself. It is about having trust in a higher power and surrendering control over one's life to that power. Faith is not just about believing in the existence of a higher being, but also about having a personal relationship with that being and relying on it for guidance and support. Faith gives us the strength and courage to face life's challenges, and it helps us to find peace and comfort in difficult times.

Hope is the expectation of a positive outcome, even in the face of adversity. It is a light that shines through the darkness, guiding us towards a brighter future. I understand this personally, as hope has been the only light that helped me through the loss of my beautiful mother at the young age of 52. Hope gave me the courage to keep going even when the road ahead seemed uncertain, and it helps all of us to believe in a better tomorrow. Hope is the driving force that helps us overcome our fears and limitations, and it helps us to stay focused on our goals, no matter what life throws our way.

Charity is the act of giving to others in need. It is about putting others before ourselves, and it is about showing love and compassion to those who are less fortunate. This is the tenant with which I need the most reflection and growth, I find myself being aware that I have been divinely blessed in this life and though many people have more than I, God has sought to bless me with much that many others don’t have as well. Charity is not just about giving money or material possessions, but also about giving our time, energy, and support to others. Charity is the foundation of a meaningful life, and it is the key to living a life of purpose and fulfillment.

As I reflect on my life, I realize that I have been too focused on my own desires and ambitions, and I have neglected the importance of Faith, Hope, and Charity in my life. Moving forward, I plan to do what is necessary to help others in these areas, and I will strive to live a life that is centered on these tenants. I will focus on building a strong relationship with my higher power, and I will rely on that relationship for guidance and support. I will strive to bring hope to others by sharing my own experiences and encouraging them to keep moving forward, even when life is tough. And, I will give of my time, energy, and resources to help those in need, and I will work to make a positive impact in the lives of others.

In conclusion, Faith, Hope, and Charity are the three tenants that form the foundation of a meaningful and fulfilling life. By focusing on these tenants, we can overcome the desires of the flesh, and we can live a life that is truly rich and fulfilling. I hope that my journey will inspire others to reflect on the importance of these tenants in their own lives, and I hope that they will join me in living a life that is centered on Faith, Hope, and Charity.
