the Mask

Hello Again!
As a child, I was enchanted by the world of superheroes, a fascination sparked by my mother and uncle who introduced me to the vibrant pages of comic books. While secretly nestled in my grandmother’s basement, I’d covertly borrowed from my uncle’s prized comic collection—carefully navigating through many adventures and getting utterly lost in tales narrated by H.G. Wells’ portrayal of The Shadow. These stories weren’t just entertainment; they were my first lessons in courage, justice, and the power of a hidden identity.
Back then, I believed superheroes were extraordinary beings capable of transforming the world. They could don masks and become symbols of hope, agents of change, champions against darkness. This allure wasn’t just in their superpowers but in their embodiment of who we all could be—brave, selfless, just. My favorite tapes of The Shadow would play on repeat until they wore out, each replay reinforcing my dream to one day be as impactful. Today, that childhood dream is taking on a new form. I’m no longer just a fan of superheroes; I’m striving to embody the essence of one. It’s not about donning a cape or fighting villains, but about utilizing my talents, my art, and my voice to make a difference. I’ve started a journey where I aim to use the gifts God has given me—not for glory or recognition, but to serve and uplift others.
This path hasn’t been straightforward. Like many of you, I am flawed. I’ve made mistakes and faced setbacks that sometimes made me feel less like a hero and more like a lost cause. But through these trials, I’ve realized that heroism doesn’t require perfection. It demands perseverance, humility, and the willingness to share one’s gifts for the greater good.
The superhero I will be very soon, doesn’t hide behind a mask to seek escape from who he is or to be a secret from the world, it’s about the message, the message isn’t mine, the message is his and I will speak his message until I cannot speak anymore. The hero I am becoming isn’t for novelty or gimmick, Instead, it seeks to utilize life’s lessons and a passionate fire for our creator to help guide others to light in the darkness. My mission now extends beyond personal redemption; it is about conveying God’s message of love through my actions and my art, helping to heal and inspire just as those comic books once inspired me. In sharing my talents and embracing my calling, I am reminded that these gifts are not mine to keep. They are given by God to be shared with the world, to spread His word and to foster healing and understanding among us all. It’s a realization that life is bigger than any one person—it’s a tapestry we’re all part of, where each thread contributes to the strength and beauty of the whole.
So, here I am, no longer just a fan of superheroes, but someone striving to be one in the most human way possible. It’s a journey I’m still navigating, but I am committed more than ever to living out this purpose, driven by faith and the belief that we all can be heroes in our own right and we can all help to make this world the one he created it to be.
God Bless
